Story

Fittys™ was founded by a husband and wife that wanted to stop squinting.

We're both members of the four-eyed community and we've both been frustrated with our sunglass options.

We came up with the idea in the Fall of 2023 and launched on Kickstarter to a very positive reception in June of 2024. It's been exciting since!

Prescription sunglasses are unnecessarily expensive, pretty annoying to buy, and need to be updated each time your prescription changes.

Clip-ons are fragile, also expensive, and it's difficult to find pairs in the secondary market that fit your frames. 

Fit-over sunglasses are an option. However, they're almost an unknown product. Also, for those who do know about them, they're frustrated with the existing options as most on the market look like medical devices. 

In response to this, Fittys™ was created to bring great design, quality manufacturing, and a real solution to this problem in the world.

Design

Our first prompt for an amateur designer was to sketch out "sunglasses that fit over your glasses and look like a Frank Gehry building on your face." 

This sadly didn't create the best results, as are pictured below.

Then we were lucky to find and partner with Carl Allen, the designer who formerly oversaw sunglass designs for Calvin Klein and Nike. 

Carl was excited to join this project due to its potential to disrupt the eyewear industry. Here are some of our first sketches below. 

We next went through many 3D printed models to create a timeless design. We wanted a product that was lightweight and was designed to fit over all prescription glasses.

 
Finally, we contacted the highest quality lens provider in the world to source our lenses from.
